    24.  Delicious steak!

    25.  A free place to sleep at the Bible college so we can have a short night away from home.

    26.  Oatmeal cookies for breakfast!

    27.  Our ceiling fan for keeping me cool in the heat.

    28.  Toasted tomato sandwiches.

    29.  Driving in the car with Jason … we just communicate well in the car, and we hold hands, which I love!

    30.  A fantastic Beef Vandaloo at Moxies

    31.  Austin’s hilarious dreams – Today in the car, 4 hours into our trip, he pips up from the backseat that he had a dream last night … 5 Liberals were in our car (it’s a 1999 Chevy Cavalier) playing McDonald’s Monopoly and eating McDonalds food.  Austin said he was with Stephen Harper, and that he had received a note that he had one $10,000, and he asked Stephen Harper what he should do with it, and Mr. Harper told him to keep it.  Apparently the Liberals were playing Monopoly in our car was that they had just lost an election and were deeply in debt and were I guess pulling at straws to try to make more money!   This kid just makes me laugh!

  • On my way to 1000 gifts

    holy experience

Well, it's proven to be a bit challenging posting this today ... my lap top does not like our wireless connection right now, and I was going to throw in the towel, until I was reminded I could just hook the baby up to the old yellow wire directly and have at her ... and even then I was feeling a bit poopy and nearly didn't do this ... but, alas, I have risen to the occasion and here are my gratitude items for this week.

    6.  Austin’s intelligent and informed prayers for the economy and international relations!

    7.  Love …. Tender affection …..

    8.  my own fragility, brokenness, woundedness …..

  • A gentle relaxed Sabbath

    july 09 038

I am enjoying a lovely Sunday morning on my deck, looking out past my antique gate onto the blue blue sky and the greenish field!    It is pretty quiet out here, except for the gurgle and hum of my neighbors pool filter .... which I don't mind, well, I like the gurgle, the hum, not so much!    Ethan is sitting in the corner in his wee sandbox, very busy with his bits and pieces, cups and containers, filling and spilling and refilling!

     july 09 039

A quick pic of the new fence.    At first I thought I'd wait a year and stain it .... now I'm thinking about painting it a deep moss or deep olive green ... kind of the same as the fence posts .... we'll see.

    july 09 029

I listened to a daily bible reading or 2 here.   I was recently turned on to this site and really enjoy the sound of the readers voice.    I have been wanting to find an audio bible for a while, and this was a wonderful find.

I'm really looking forward to my gratitude entry tomorrow.   It's been neat to be more aware of the things around me that are bringing me moments of joy through out the week.  The awareness that I am going to record them has made them more meaningful some how, so I'm looking forward to that entry tomorrow.

I need to prep and send a couple more resumes .... otherwise I'm hoping this day stays relaxed and mellow!

  • 1000 Gifts

     holy experience

I want to jump in and begin to work on my own list of 1000 gifts.    God blesses constantly, in many ways, big and small.    My list is just starting!

    1. I am thankful for sand, and for the joy and enjoyment it gives Ethan as he pours it back and forth, feels it drift through his fingers, or smiles as he fills his pocket full of grains.
    2. The great big beautiful painted prairie sky, glorious, fresh, artistic
    3. Fresh cut wood, and a lovely new wooden fence, cleaning defining a boundary.
    4. Wind ….its mind clearing gusts that cleanse out the drivel.
    5. Colorful Greek salad … yum

About Me

  • I am loved by God. Realizing His great affection for me is my anchor, and something I am constantly learning about. I have the word "Beloved" tattooed on my wrist to serve as a constant reminder about what He thinks about me. I have been Jason's wife for 14 years. He was a pastor for 17 years, and is now a Bible college professor. We have 2 boys, Austin (12) and Ethan (11). They are handsome charming affectionate boys! Both have autism, Austin is high functioning, and Ethan is lower functioning. I work part time as a medical secretary in a brand new clinic for Bones and Joints. I love hearing other people's stories and sharing part of mine!
